You might call it a case of the blind stabbing the blind.One of the hopefuls from this season's Star Academie television series is expected to be charged with attempted murder after allegedly assaulting her formerboyfriend.Star Academie is a music talent show, sort of the Quebec equivalent of Canadian Idol, that's one of the most popular programs in the province. The compilationalbums that are spun off the show sell in the hundreds of thousands. Audrey Trepanier, a 21-year-old blind singer, hoped to gain fame and fortune fromappearing on the show. Now she could be facing jail time.Trepanier met her former beau, who's also blind, at Montreal's Hotel la Residence Du Voyageur (where ChartAttack's news editor has stayed the last threetimes he's been in the city) to discuss their relationship on January 7. Shortly before midnight, a man struggled down four flights of hotel stairs wearingonly his pants, according to The Gazette. He told a front desk employee that he thought a woman in his room was trying to kill him and he called 911.

"He had scratches on his upper body," Catalin Gongoroiu, the front desk employee who had she had checked the man into the hotel about two hours earlier,
told the newspaper.
"He told me they were doing some Indian ritual because the girl said she was pregnant. He said they were both blindfolded and that she put a knife on his
throat. He was convinced that he barely escaped with his life. He was very panicked."
Gongoroiu said that the man didn’t divulge any more details about the ritual, which is too bad because we were really just getting into the story.
According to Montreal police officer Anie Lemieux, 23-year-old Remy Chartier claimed he had been given a cocktail of pills and then had a knife put to his
throat.
Trepanier was being questioned by police and could also be charged with possessing a weapon with the intent to commit a crime. Chartier, who had flown to
Montreal from Nanaimo, B.C., was taken to hospital for observation and released. He was accompanied by two police officers back to the hotel on Sunday
so he could pick up his belongings.
"I felt really bad for him because of what happened," a hotel employee told The Gazette. "He had booked in for three nights, but we refunded his money for
two of the nights."
Trepanier and Chartier met at a summer camp in Toronto organized by the Canadian National Institute For The Blind in 2001. Trepanier shared her love of
singing on the camp's website.
"I love music, it's my favourite drug and it's totally legal," she wrote.
Police said they didn't know what kind of pills Trepanier allegedly gave Chartier before the assault, but we're pretty sure they weren't music.
Just proves that blind people are just as crazy as sighted people.

Well, as far as I know, she's not on the Zone. Interesting thing.. she and I used to talk fairly frequently. Then after this happened she fell off the face of the earth. I've seen her on skype though but she won't talk to me. I can, however, also tell you that the man involved is not on this site either.

An attempted murder at the Voyageur Hotel near the bus station alledgedly involved a finalist in the popular Star Academie show.
21-year-old Audrey Trépanier, a blind woman from the Quebec City region, will be charged with attempted murder and weapons possession, among others, today.
She was among the 50 finalists in the 3rd edition of the hit Quebec show, similar to American or Canadian Idol.
Trépanier is reportedly suspected drugging her ex-boyfriend, who had come to visit in Montreal, tying him up and attempted to slice his throat with a knife.
He too is blind, and despite the drugs, was able to fight her off and call 9-11.
The 23-year-old man from British Colombia has minor injuries. She's been behind bars since her arrest. She's suspected of committing the attempted murder,
unable to deal with the fact they had broken up.
